Westminster sophomore Ana Meza caught our attention with her eye-catching everyday style, so we decided to catch up with her and ask her some questions about her fashion influences, and reason for paying such close attention to the way she dresses at school.

What do you think shapes your personal style?

“A lot of what shapes my personal style is what I find on Pinterest and from Instagram influencers. I try to recreate the outfits that I save online with the clothes that I already own. This way, I don't have to buy new clothes for every new outfit, and I get to be creative in a new way every time.”

What are some of your favorite places to shop?

“I really like shopping in Mexico because I find stores that I can't find in the US, so no one will have the same clothes as me. This way, when someone asks me where I get my clothes, they will be from another city. The clothes that I get locally are usually from are from Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack, and TJ Max. Since I change my style a lot, I don't want to have to buy expensive clothes every time. Buying cheaper clothes to accommodate for my changing style helps me be original.”

Who are some of your style inspirations?

“A lot of my inspiration come from instagram influencers all around the world. I like drawing from them because I can get a more diverse style. For example, Jenn Muchelas (@jmuchelas) from Spain, who I follow on Instagram. Jenn has a modern street style that I like. Also Sarah Puttemans from Belgium (@sarahputtemans). Sarah's style is more high end and girlie.”

Why do you think it’s important to be able to express yourself through clothes?

“I think expressing yourself through clothes is very important because you can get an idea of who a person is without knowing or talking to them. Clothes are a reflection of what type of person you are, almost like a name tag. I don't want to look boring to the rest of the world. I want to look extra.”
